Dear Friend,
On this past Tuesday, (October 23rd, 2018) in Macon, Judge Ennis dismissed the case which appealed for an additional hearing with Planning & Zoning to address the approval of the Summit Abortion Center. The Plaintiffs are considering an appeal.
While we are of course grieved by this result, we are by no means broken. This is an opportunity – not one we would ask for, but nevertheless one we’ve been given – to stand for life knowing that we will be doing so with the very real threat of death hanging over some of the most vulnerable members of our community. And so we would encourage all who stand for life with us not to see this as the end of the war, but rather as the beginning of a campaign.
The Campaign for Life will require much of us, of that there can be no doubt and we won’t try to hide that fact. It will require prayer, first, last, and always. Pray for our God to change hearts and save lives – the live of these babies, the lives of their mommies, but also the lives and hearts of those who may eventually work at this abortion center. We believe in a God who saves, and we believe He is calling His people in this community to rise up and seek salvation, in every possible sense, for those who will find themselves involved in the industry of genocide.
The Campaign for Life will require time and presence – your time and presence as efforts are made to reach out to those who find themselves in danger, and as training and informational events are offered to equip those campaigning for life.
The Campaign for Life will require financial support. While we will continue to seek to be responsible and discerning in the use of funds, the truth is that our efforts to coordinate the Campaign for Life will come with some expense, and we will need your help with that.
Now, let’s be realistic about something else as well. The campaign for life will not be something you (or we) can put 100% of your life and resources into 100% of the time. So it’s important that we set reasonable expectations. We will commit to remain in prayer regarding the Summit Center, and we trust you will as well. But time, presence, and money are scarce resources. We understand. So we ask that you make it a matter of prayer as well in the coming days, that you determine what level of time, presence, and financial resources you and your family can reasonably devote to this cause for the long-haul, and then be faithful. Not faithful to or for Macon Stands for Life, but faithful in service to the One who gave us life, in being a voice for life in our community.
Ways to get involved and Stand for Life: Actions Steps
1. For those who want to join others in the community in prayer there is a weekly open air Prayer Meeting held in front of 833 Walnut St. (the site if the proposed abortion facility) every Monday morning from 7:00-8:00am.
2. Upcoming Training and Educational opportunity: Macon Stands for Life will hold its next chapter meeting on November 15th at the Kolbe Center starting at 6:30pm. We will be teaching on pro-life topics, how to defend your faith on the subjects of personhood, human rights, and more. Ann Beall the Executive Director of The Kolbe Center will give us an up-date and tour of the Kolbe Center as well. You will not want to miss this event!
3. Sidewalk Advocates for Life training: Sidewalk advocates are the “First Responders” in the pro-life cause. These are trained volunteers that meet abortion minded women outside of the “clinic” and offer hope with sincerity, real care and love for the mother, baby, and the Lord. (We pray this facility will never open, but we must prepare now in case it does.) I, Jennifer, personally have gone through this training and I highly recommend it to you! Email for more details. This is a free Christian event, but registration is required to prepare material. The next training will be Sunday, November 11th, 1:00-5:00pm. Please email Ann Beall at ann@kolbecentermacon.org or call 478-257-4425
4. Donate to Georgia Right to Life’s educational fund so we can continue to bring education, discussion, training, and pro-life billboards to Middle Georgia.
Thank you for standing for life. As always, please share this email with others and consider becoming a Life Liaison today.
For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever, Amen. ~Romans 11:36
